My Art
A few years back a friend put me on to Zentangles during Arts & Crafts at our writing retreat, Camp Write Start. It was instant love. I had spent years and years thinking I was no good at visual art. Because I CANNOT draw a straight line to save my life. Because what I draw never looks like what I meant to draw. Because I told myself I couldn't.
I had convinced myself I was bad at it. In reality, I just hadn't found what worked for me. And zentangle works. It takes the pressure off. I intentionally draw crooked lines. Intentionally color outside of the lines. And it turns out great. So, if you have been thinking that you also don't have skills when it comes to visual art, I invite you to also give zentangle a try!
